01 · Overview

Movement taught by a clinician.

Pilates focuses on how your core is the foundation of how you move. Connecting the front and back of your core teaches stability at the joints and mobility through the spine. Your core is your powerhouse, and learning to use it can decrease pain, improve movement patterns and build strength.

What makes this clinical is who is teaching it. Sessions are led by Dr. Laura Schaffer, a chiropractor with nearly a decade of Pilates instruction and 25 years of dance experience, so programming is built around your injuries, restrictions and goals rather than a generic class plan.

Because chiropractic and Pilates run together here, the two reinforce each other. Chiropractic work restores alignment and joint motion. Clinical Pilates rebuilds the strength to hold it in place.

Personalized sessions to correct imbalances, improve mobility, deepen mind-body connection and find your powerhouse.
02 · What To Expect

How care works, step by step.

Every plan is individual, but the path through care follows the same principles: understand first, treat precisely, then build strength that lasts.

01

Assessment first

Sessions begin from an understanding of your body, including previous injuries, restrictions and the movement patterns you default to under load.

02

Programming for you

Work is programmed on reformer, tower and chair to target what your body actually needs, then progressed as you get stronger.

03

Learning the why

You are taught what each exercise is doing and what to feel, so the connection carries beyond the studio.

04

Progression over time

As stability and mobility improve, sessions advance toward the strength and activity you want to return to.

One practitioner, start to finish

You are seen by Dr. Schaffer at every visit. Nothing is handed to an assistant and nothing gets lost between providers.

Evaluation before treatment

Every course of care opens with a full body evaluation, so nothing is missed and nothing is assumed.

Two disciplines under one roof

Chiropractic and clinical Pilates run together here, which means treatment and retraining reinforce each other instead of competing.

You leave knowing why

Understanding the what and the why behind an injury is what lets you care for your own body long after a session ends.

07 · Questions

Frequently asked.

What is the difference between clinical Pilates and a regular Pilates class?

Clinical Pilates is taught by a healthcare provider and programmed around your body. Sessions here are led by a chiropractor, so exercise selection accounts for your injury history, joint restrictions and rehabilitation goals rather than following a set class sequence.

Do I need Pilates experience to start?

No. The New Client Special exists for exactly this reason, and private sessions are the best possible place to learn foundations properly. Experienced movers use the same format to deepen an established practice.

What is a semi-private session?

A duet reformer session for you and one partner with the instructor. Pricing is per person and you provide your own partner. Packages can be shared between partners or purchased separately.

What should I bring or wear?

Grip socks are required for Pilates. Wear clothing you can move freely in and that lets the instructor see how you are moving.

What is the cancellation policy?

All sessions have a 24 hour cancellation policy. Cancelling inside that window or not showing forfeits the session. Packages are non-refundable and non-transferable.
